Re-imagining the future

This is a call to all fashion designers to adopt a human centered approach where the conceptual self of individuals is central and designs are no longer dictated by policymakers. This way fashion serves as a support for the unique self.

I'm advocating for fashion designers to embrace a human-centered approach that prioritizes the conceptual self, challenging the industry's norm of designs dictated by policymakers. My study explores the conceptual self as a fluid construct shaped by societal roles, internal perceptions, and traits. I highlight the significant impact of clothing on self-identity due to its intimate relationship with the body, underscoring fashion's role in both reflecting and shaping our self-concepts within a socio-cultural framework.

In addressing the complex interplay between fashion, self-perception, and societal influence, I caution against viewing clothing as a simple solution to identity changes. Instead, I emphasize the profound effects of fashion imagery and industry practices on our understanding of self and others.

Through my research, I introduce the notion of transparent garments as symbols of identity fluidity and non-conformity, advocating for a perspective that views identity as changeable and unbound by traditional norms. My goal is to challenge current fashion systems by presenting a speculative design within a futuristic narrative, aiming to provoke thought and discussion about the industry's impact on personal identity. This speculative approach, centered on storytelling and conceptual design, serves to question and critique the fashion industry's influence on our conceptual self, pushing for a reevaluation of how fashion interacts with identity formation in modern society.
